“The messaging, the branding, the design. This is the foundation a company is built on. Calvina is at the bedrock of that. Calvina gets to the heart of what your business is actually doing then helps you tell that story to the world. Working with her was a game-changer. I recommend her any chance that I get. I love my website and that's all due to her talents.”

She’d Made Others Unmissable.
It Was Finally Time to Do It for Herself.
Jenn DeBarge Goonan has spent her career making other organizations impossible to ignore. She helped launch Lululemon in the US. She worked on the Ben and Jerry's Hubby Hubby campaign. She served as spokesperson for TJX. She spent seven years with FIRST Robotics. She contributed to the Huffington Post. Every one of those projects put someone else in the spotlight. Jenn was the invisible thread running through all of it.
When she stepped out on her own with JAG Communications, she brought two decades of earned expertise with her. What she did not bring was a website. A prospect she was actively courting asked for one. She had nothing to send. That was the moment it became urgent. The expertise was never the problem. The problem was that no one outside her immediate network could see it.

Three breakthroughs that defined the brand
01
She’s Been on Every Side of the Table. That’s Why Her Clients Never Have to Wonder What Will Land.
Many communications consultants have agency experience. Fewer have spent time on the in-house corporate side, deciding which pitches to approve and which to send back. Almost none have also contributed to major media as a writer on the receiving end of those same pitches.
Jenn has done all three. She built campaigns at agencies. She sat inside TJX making corporate communications decisions. She contributed to the Huffington Post as someone evaluating what came across her desk and deciding what was worth publishing.
What became clear as we worked through the Brand Deep Dive: Jenn understands both sides of the media coin. Not as a theory. As lived experience. Her clients do not have to guess what will resonate with a journalist, what a corporate approver needs to see, or how a pitch lands on the other side. She has been every one of those people. That triple vantage point had been sitting unnamed in her credentials for years. Listed as separate experiences with no connective tissue between them. We named it.
02
Twenty Years of Process, Finally on the Page
Jenn had a methodology. Six steps: Analyze, Diagnose, Align, Activate, Amplify, Sustain. She had been running clients through it for years.
She had just never written it down.
"This is my air that I breathe," she said. "I don't talk about it because I've been doing it so many years."
That is what deep expertise looks like from the inside. The process is so internalized it no longer feels like a process. It feels like breathing. Which also makes it invisible to anyone trying to understand what working with her actually involves.
Our Brand Deep Dive surfaced it. The Business Launch Day is where we made it visible. Her methodology became a six-card process section on her website, structured and scannable, showing exactly what clients move through when they work with her. What had lived only in her head was now something a prospect could read, understand, and trust.
03
The Hype Girl Who Finally Got to Hype Herself
"I am the ultimate hype girl. I do the work behind it so that it looks effortless."
She had done exactly that for every client she had ever worked with. She had made campaigns feel natural and inevitable. She had made organizations look like they had been doing this forever. She had taken complicated messages and made them land cleanly.
She had never done it for herself.
Our Brand Deep Dive was the first time anyone had sat with her and asked the questions that made her say out loud what she had known for twenty years. She knew she was good at this work. She could feel it. What she could not do was stand far enough outside herself to name it for someone else.
"I can be brilliant, but for myself, I don't know what it is. I'm just too close to it."
By the end of the build day, that no longer applied. The website was live. The positioning was clear. The hype girl finally had a brand that hyped her back.
Business Branding Results:
From Behind Someone Else’s Story to Finally Her Own
Brand Strategy
& Positioning
Brand Strategy & Positioning is built around her triple vantage point across agency, corporate, and media, creating a category no generalist marketing consultant can claim. She has been every person in the communications chain. That is what the brand now leads with.
Brand
Deep Dive
Brand Deep Dive named what had been sitting unnamed in her credentials for years: the triple vantage point, the six-step methodology she had been running clients through for decades without ever writing it down, and the hype girl who had never gotten to hype herself.
Brand Messaging
& Website Copy
Brand Messaging & Website Copy written from her actual credentials and way of working. Her six-step methodology (Analyze, Diagnose, Align, Activate, Amplify, Sustain) is structured into a scannable process section on the website, making her approach visible and trustworthy before a prospect ever gets on a call.
Visual Identity
& Design
Visual Identity & Design: a one-page Squarespace site designed to match the clean, direct authority of her positioning, built and published on the Business Launch Day.
Website Design
& Build
Website Design & Build: live on the Business Launch Day. The prospect who had been waiting for a website finally had one to send.
When the Person Who Makes Others Seen Has a Hard Time Seeing Herself
This is one of the most consistent things I see in my work with accomplished professionals. Their expertise is real. The results are there. What they cannot do is translate any of it into something the right person can find, read, and trust before ever getting on a call.
That is the specific problem of proximity. You cannot see your own face without a mirror. You cannot see your own positioning without someone outside yourself who knows what they are looking for.
Jenn had built campaigns that went viral before going viral had a name. She had shaped categories that now have their own vocabulary. She understood the psychology of messaging at a level most communicators never reach. And none of that helped her explain herself on a page.
That is the gap the Brand Deep Dive closes. Not by inventing something new. By putting words to what was already there.
“I feel relieved. That’s the keyword. Relieved and happy and excited and proud and ready. I work alone a lot, so this felt like having a colleague. We just knocked out a product. It was collaborative, educational, inspirational.”
